PE Winter Sampler
Wednesday Classes | Unavailable
Hale and hardy winter explorers welcome! Coach Joe and Coach Reed are back with an outdoors-focused, winter-themed P.E. class designed to keep kids active and having fun in the fresh air.
This year, two age groups will meet during the same hour, each with their own coach. At times, groups will work separately on age-appropriate skills and games; other times, they’ll come together for cooperative or competitive activities.
Planned activities include:
- Quinzee (snow shelter) building — a favorite!
- “Sled Dog” relays with plastic sleds
- Pioneers vs. Wolves survival game
- Trap-making demonstrations (no animals involved)
- Winter navigation, tracking, and weather observation skills
- When weather is too severe, we’ll move activities indoors.
Important: This is a winter outdoor class, so proper cold-weather gear is required—insulated jacket, snow pants, boots, gloves/mittens, and a warm hat. Face coverings (balaclava, mask, or scarf) and base layers are highly recommended to keep warm in windy conditions.
