Introduction to Pyrography
Adult Workshop (Age 16+) | Registration opens 10/28/2026 10:00 AM
Pyrography is the old art of “drawing with fire” and when you do so on wood, it’s called wood burning. Want to learn it? We’ll go through an overview of pyrography including, what pyrography is, methods for wood burning, safe use of pyrography units, how to control mark making techniques using the array of pen nibs, how to prepare your wood, add color, etc. You’ll be given our custom structured wooden worksheet to practice on and scrap wood to try your markmaking.
Then you’ll doodle to your heart’s desire on pre lasercut wood shapes! Shapes will be provided for items like bookmarks, coasters, key chains, or ornaments for you to take home. Bring your own drawing ideas or trace from graphics in class. For adult of any skill level looking to try out pyrography or wanting time to work on their own wood burning projects. Tuition includes materials and tool use.
