Guided Study: Grasping Glazing

Adult (Ages 16+) | Registration opens 10/28/2026 10:00 AM

Have you ever made a pot you loved, only to have it ruined by a glaze disaster? Does every glaze attempt feel like a guessing game? Get ready to demystify glazing! In this class we will start off glazing existing bisqueware and test tiles, discussing techniques and testing various glaze applications and combinations. Then students will create their own work, either handbuilding or on the wheel (or both!), with demos from the instructor per student interest. As tests are glaze fired, we will share results as a class, celebrating successes and coming up with ideas for what to try next in a warm and judgement-free environment. Through multiple rounds of glazing, you will fine tune techniques and style to be able to produce more successful and polished work. No experience necessary. Tuition includes all clay, glazing and firing.
