Introduction to Acrylic Painting for Teens

Teen (Gr 7-12) | Registration opens 2/4/2026 10:00 AM

In this intro level course, students will work on their painting skills and learn about foundational art principles through a mix of in class projects. We will begin with still life setups and progress toward projects chosen by students to help them explore their own unique voices. Students will work on rendering skills while also learning about art history and contemporary painters through each exercise.

Peyton Bailey

Peyton is an artist from Athens, Georgia. She holds an MFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University and a BFA in Drawing and Painting from the University of Georgia. She uses drawing, painting, and fiber to examine her religious upbringing in the South and the lines that blur between superstition and the secular culture of the region.
