Urban Sketching

Explore Arlington one doodle at a time! In this three-session course, we’ll meet outside at a different, bus-accessible location around town and learn how to draw buildings and streetscapes directly from life. You’ll be guided through approachable techniques for quickly capturing perspective, architecture, and key visual details without getting bogged down in perfectionism. This class is designed for artists with basic drawing experience (or more!) who want to get comfortable sketching on location—perfect for travelers, sketchbook enthusiasts, or anyone looking to try observational drawing. Throughout the course, you'll gain confidence sketching (in pen!) the world around you on the go, wherever you happen to be.
First class will meet in front of CVS (833 Mass Ave, by Whole Foods/First Baptist Church). Class locations subject to change based on weather and class discussion. Rain dates: May 30, Jun 6, June 13

Nala Wu
Nala J. Wu (aka Jae) is a proud multiple-marginalized art director and award-winning illustrator who works full-time doing freelance for tabletop roleplaying games. They specialize in character/costume design, life drawing, portraiture, layout design, and cover/key art. Besides art, Nala enjoys voice acting, experimenting with makeup, eating ungodly amounts of pasta, and Committing to the Bit (whatever the Bit may be).
