-Cold Press Watercolor pad, 9x12 inches, 140 lb, 300 gm, any brand such as Canson or Arches, minimum of 12 sheets
-Arches Hot Press Watercolor Pad, 9" x 12", 140 lb, 300 gm, Fold-over, 12 sheets
-Inexpensive sketchpad, any size
-H, HB, 2H graphite pencils.
-Kneaded and plastic erasers.
-Pencil sharpener, such as Muji or Rapesco brand for best sharpening.
-Ruler, clear plastic is best, but use what is available.
-Inexpensive magnifying glass.
-Removable artist’s tape.
–Board or surface to tape watercolor paper onto.
–Professional quality watercolor tube paints from Winsor Newton, size 5 ml, in each of the following colors:
1. Winsor Lemon or Hansa Yellow Light
2. New Gamboge
3. Winsor Violet (Dioxazine)
4. Cobalt Blue
5. French Ultramarine
6. Winsor Blue Green Shade
7. Permanent Rose
8. Scarlet Lake
9. Indanthrene Blue or Indigo
Additional colors that are fun for botanicals:
1. Transparent Pyrrol Orange (Daniel Smith brand)
2. Quinacridone Gold
3. Burnt Sienna
-Palette to mix paints with several wells, preferably porcelain – ideally not plastic. -Synthetic Rounds Brushes, sizes #2, #6, #10, #12 or larger plus one flat brush around 1 inch or so.
-Paper towels or clean cloth.
-Two containers for holding water.
