Drawing & Painting Landscapes for Adults
Adult (Ages 16+) | Available (Membership Required)
Landscape is a tool to explore and embrace the context of a given environment. We will observe landscapes embracing the world around us as well as contemporary works with a new perspective. We will explore works that incorporate man-made structures, plant life, and the interaction between these elements. Paintings and drawings will be made both from photographs taken by the students (having a smart phone is helpful, but not necessary) and through direct plein-air observation in the immediate area surrounding ACA’s campus (weather and light permitting). Works will be created using acrylic paint. Open to artists of all levels and abilities!

Leslie Donahue
Leslie Donahue (they/them) is a multimedia artist specializing in both oil and acrylic painting. Born and raised in the California Bay Area, their work moves from figurative, to landscape, to abstract. Specializing in atmospheric, strange scenes imbued with emotion, there is tension between what is revealed to the viewer and what is hidden. Leslie utilizes their skill in printmaking, drawing, and collage to further explore these visual themes. While living and attending Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston, Leslie has been a part of several gallery shows, including a 2022 “Fresh Faces” exhibition in the SOWA arts district. They currently live in Cambridge with their dog Snoopy.
