Fun with Puppets (Gr 1-5)
In-Person: Kids | Available (Membership Required)
Do you wish you could fly? Or run faster than a cheetah? Puppets make it possible! In the first weeks of class we will create hand puppets from fabric, paper and yarn and teach them to perform by moving and talking on stage. We'll work together to make simple skits. In weeks 5 and 6 we will create shadow puppets of different kinds of paper, and light up the stage with our brilliantly colored characters. Each class includes free time to experiment and play with puppets and props from the instructor's basket.

Margaret Moody (duplicate acct)
Margaret Moody (she/her/hers) loves the way puppets carry us into different worlds with the flip of a hand. After studying traditional Bu Dai Xi puppetry in Taiwan for 3 years, she began incorporating the acrobatic style into all her shows, which feature fairies, trolls, animals, and the Monkey King. Margaret performs in community centers, libraries and preschools as a solo artist, and also works in ensemble shows with Galapagos Puppets and Dream Tale Puppets. She is a studio artist at Arlington Center for the Arts.
