Wednesday Afternoon Wheel Throwing
Adult (Ages 16+) | Registration closed 10/3/2025
This introductory wheel throwing class is perfect for those new to ceramics as well as those looking to regain confidence on the wheel. Working in a supportive, laid-back environment, you will learn the fundamentals of working on the potter’s wheel, including centering clay, pulling walls, shaping forms, and trimming. We will cover basic forms such as cups, bowls, and small vessels, with opportunities to explore more complex shapes as skills progress. Instruction also includes surface decoration and glazing, with an emphasis on craftsmanship, design, and personal expression. No experience necessary.

Samantha McLelland
Samantha McLelland is a ceramist, illustrator, and teacher. She illustrated the book Rosie's Garden, written by Olivia Coates and published in 2025; she has also participated in many local pottery shows, and was selected for the 2025 Pottery Makers Illustrated Reader Submission Contest.
