Watercolor Painting -- Landscapes of New England
In-Person: Adult | Registration opens 2/5/2025 10:00 AM
Paint a variety of New England landscapes in watercolor by practicing multiple techniques, including flat wash, dry brush, mixing colors on both the palette and the paper, wet-into-wet, creating effective edges and others. Photos of seascapes, mountains, gardens and more will be provided. Students are also invited to bring photos of their favorite landscapes or travel photos of New England as references. Classical and modern masters of watercolor landscape painting, including Sargent, Homer, Burchfield, Prey and many others are studied for inspiration. Two sessions will be held outside at the Robbins Gardens in Arlington Center for practicing a plein air experience. Beginning and experienced watercolor students are welcome.
