Angela Ackerman
Angela Ackerman is an artist and educator who has been teaching art to both children and adults since 1995 in various local museums, schools, and art centers. She attended Rhode Island School of Design and has a BFA in illustration and a Masters in Education from Framingham State University. Angela's career started at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City designing greeting cards, gift bags, and books. After moving to New England, she started exhibiting her work at the NY Stationery Show/Surtex Trade Shows and licensing her designs for many consumer products including: mugs, teapots, giftware, baby bedding, and ornaments. Her editorial illustration clients include: Random House, The Washington Post, Family Therapy Networker, and Mortgage Banking.
Currently, Angela is most passionate about the creation process itself: incorporating watercolor, expressive line drawing, and experimentation in her practice. Whether in teaching or in her own art, she challenges herself to reinvent her process constantly, understanding that there is no limit to creativity as long as you always stay curious and eager to learn.
