Journaling At New Year’s: Five Objects That Suggest The Way Forward
Hybrid: Adult | Available
Leaning on Joseph Bagley’s book A History of Boston in 50 Artifacts (uncovered in the Big Dig), this journaling experience looks for objects that tell us what we value and what we wish from life. We’ll explore objects in our surroundings and from our past that may offer insight into where we’d like to be headed. Such objects might include specific book titles, clothing, art, photos, foods, movies, places, old journals, work samples, and world events. As we unearth our objects, we’ll journal about them, teasing out in structured ways, the reasons for their appeal and the insights they offer. People often find useful themes, relevant stories, forgotten skills and interests from the past and certain continuities and hidden patterns in current day “objects."
