Hybrid Hand Building and Wheel Throwing

There’s no better way to end the day- and the week- than with clay! This class is perfect for those interested to work on and off of the wheel. From beginner throwing techniques to the many foundations of handbuilding, this class will be filled to the brim with knowledge to start you on your ceramics journey or to give you a space to continue your pursuit of knowledge on Friday nights! All levels are welcome.

Marta Kaemmer
Born in Zimbabwe, Marta spent her teenage and college years in the Midwest before moving to Austria. She returned to the US to earn her Master of Fine Arts from Boston University in 2011. Trained as a painter, her interest in materials has kept her moving between media and including printmaking, textiles, sculpture and ceramics in her work. Her work is process based with a strong interest in color, patterns, texture, and form. She has taught painting and ceramics at various art centers in the Boston area including Decordova, New Art Center and Lex Art. She is currently based in Waltham, MA.
