Experimental & Expressive Drawing (In-Person)

Adult (Ages 16+) | This program is completed

There are an infinite number of ways to draw, so let’s explore! This course is for any artist of any level looking to branch away from realism and begin creating art in essence. Already an abstract artist? Let’s expand your skill. Experimental and Expressive Drawing is for artists of all levels. Prompts and assignments are issued in a way that can be as advanced or as simple as you would like. We will try out a variety of experimental drawing processes, investigating the relationship between eye, brain and hand. Are you stuck in your creative process? These exercises can help you look at the world of drawing with new eyes. Are you new to drawing and would like to try out different approaches and materials? We will practice mark-making, line, shape, value, gesture and composition, all classic elements of art, but will question traditional expectations about what art is supposed to be.
