Monday - Friday, 1:30 - 4:30pm.  Love animation and interested in making your own? This week, we’ll explore the basics of hand-drawn and stop-motion animation. Students will make their own animated flipbooks to understand the mechanics of traditional, hand-drawn animation and use filmmaking fundamentals to explore the creative world of stop-motion. We’ll also study examples of historical animation, from early Disney shorts to the stop-motion stylings of Aardman Animations (i.e. Wallace & Gromit), for context and inspiration.

An Important Note Re: COVID-19:

ACA continues to closely monitor developments regarding COVID-19 protocols and practices. ACA has instituted numerous safety procedures and policies, to account for social distancing and to mitigate risk re: COVID-19. These policies include the following:

  • ACA requires proof of full COVID vaccination for all eligible camp participants (ages 5 and above). We request that proof of vaccination be submitted along with campers' required First Aid & Emergency Contact paperwork and no later than one week before the start of the camp program for which your child is enrolled.  Alternatively, campers can provide 2 negative PCR COVID tests:

    • 1 taken within 72 hours prior to the start of camp
    • 1 taken midway through the camp week (by Wednesday)

Should participants fail to provide proof of vaccination or notify us in writing about the PCR test option by the start of their particular camp program, they will not be permitted to join ACA's camp programs and ACA's standard camp cancellation policy will go into effect (which can be found at our website).
Additionally, all staff and campers are required to wear masks, per Arlington town policy.
  • ACA will be in touch prior to the start of the program with a list of any required supplies, as applicable
