Mending & Embroidering Clothing (In-person)
In-Person: Adult | This program is completed
1 Saturday, 10:00 am -1:00 pm
Do you have a pair of worn jeans, denim jacket or a favorite flannel shirt that's beginning to fray? Or maybe you're just looking to add some hand-stitched touches to your wardrobe to create a one-of-a-kind piece? Instead of throwing away your damaged clothing, give it a new life. Using Japanese boro and sashiko techniques, you'll learn some tricks and techniques in this class. We'll initially work on exploring stitches on a piece of cloth which can be used as a patch, as well as ways to mend holes and use simple embroidery techniques to add character to your clothing. Beginners welcome! Students are asked to bring a garment for mending or embellishing. No sweaters or knits please.
