Looking for time to do your own work? Refine your skills, expand your practice, and take time for yourself in our ceramics open studio hours. Work in our new ceramics studio space at your own pace. The Adult Ceramics Directed Study/Open Studio allows participants to experiment and create independently. Designed as a semester-long program, artists gain access to the ceramics classroom with a loose structure.

  • This class is open to ages 16 and up.
  • No instruction is provided, however, for your Directed Study/Open Studio class there will be a studio facilitator present to answer any individual questions and provide guidance for 1 hour every 3rd class (3 sessions total).
  • Students new to ACA's ceramics studio will go through a brief orientation on the first day of class.
  • Registration includes one 25lb bag of clay, firing, and glazing for the class as well as communal supplies. Additional clay can be purchased from your instructor if needed for $25 a bag. In order to enroll in our open studio, you will need to have previously or simultaneously signed up for one of our other ceramics classes to learn our systems and procedures in the community ceramics studio.
  • You are welcome to buy your own tools or use our communal supplies.
  • Studio monitor will discuss materials on the first day of class to those who would like to have their own tools.
