Are you drawn to the allure of the night and want to take your night photography further? We’ll focus on your personal vision with take-home shooting assignments, advanced techniques, in-class post-processing sessions and group feedback with the goal of producing a set of nocturnal images you’re pleased with. This course is for students who have completed Night Photography I or have prior night photography experience and are comfortable with basic night photography techniques. One class session may consist of meeting outdoors at a location TBD to practice
astrophotography if weather permits.

  • Students should bring A DSLR, Mirrorless or Advanced Point & Shoot camera, user manual, a sturdy tripod and remote release (if you have one). A laptop or tablet with Adobe Lightroom or your favorite photo software are recommended for in-class post-
  • processing practice.
  • Please bring your digital camera, user manual, tripod and remote release (if you have one). This class will spend time outdoors at a nearby location for a field practice, please dress accordingly!

Doug is a photographer based in Arlington, who studied at the College of Art and Design at Lesley University. Natural and urban landscapes are the focus of his work, particularly after dark. Straddling the boundary between conceptual and documentary, impermanence and mystery are important elements that inform his work. Long-exposure, atmosphere, minimalism and the ethereal characterize his aesthetic. Examples of his work may be viewed at douglasseigars.com.
