Images and ideas are the essence of digital photography; let us accompany you on your exploration! This introductory course is designed for students new to photography or transitioning from film to digital, and focuses on you and your images. We will help bring your images from concept to completion, and learn about the camera, camera settings, techniques, composition and photo editing. Assignments will provide opportunities to practice your new skills, and we’ll spend time reviewing your images in a small and relaxed group setting.
With Douglas Seigars

  • Please bring your digital camera and user manual to class with you. A laptop or tablet are also recommended for in-class photo editing practice.

Doug is a photographer based in Arlington, who studied at the College of Art and Design at Lesley University. Natural and urban landscapes are the focus of his work, particularly after dark. Straddling the boundary between conceptual and documentary, impermanence and mystery are important elements that inform his work. Long-exposure, atmosphere, minimalism and the ethereal characterize his aesthetic. Examples of his work may be viewed at douglasseigars.com.
