This course serves as an introduction for those who are new to dramatic arts, or as skill building for experienced performers. Treating the performance area as our play space, we will explore multiple forms of acting and theater, including improvisation, scene work, and monologue. Students will also be introduced to acting techniques and conventions that will be useful in their understanding of acting and theater (rehearsal procedure, (re)acting, the lifecycle of a show, "Yes and..."). Course activities will include improvisational play, scene writing and work, videos, monologues, and a sharing session to show off the hard work done in class!
