Through careful observation of the model and the development of a conceptual framework for working with the figure, this class provides a fresh perspective applicable to all of our artistic endeavors. The first three meetings will cover general topics such as gesture, movement, balance, depth and volume. For the rest of the term, we will look more closely at anatomical and structural factors that come into play when drawing from a life model. Each session includes instructor demonstrations, one-on-one instruction and casual group critiques. Open to all levels of experience, some previous drawing experience recommended.
