Create stunning animated works by exploring the kinetics of time based media. Students in this class will learn the basics of video, animation, and frame rate while composing collaborative and individual projects using traditional and experimental techniques.

  • It is recommended (but not required) that students bring their own equipment. Doing so will allow for more individualized investigations in time based media and class exercises.

  • Regardless of what students may or may not bring basic materials will be provided for students to complete class projects. There will be a communal ipad and digital cameras available for students to share and work with.

  • Suggested Supply List:

  • Misc. objects that students may want to bring to life.

  • Phones, tablets, or other smart devices with a working camera and available storage.

  • Students who bring their own smart devices will be asked to download and install the free Stop Motion app.

  • Digital Cameras/Laptops combos can be used instead of smart device.

  • Tripods that with mount for camera or device being used
LeGare, Chris

he/him/his Chris LeGare holds a BFA in Animation and an MA in Education from the Mass College of Art. He teaches in the Newton Public Schools. At ACA, Chris teaches classes in Animation, Drawing, Sculpture and the Friday Night Teen Clubhouse.
