Colored Pencil Drawing

Learn to create richly layered drawings using colored pencil, a vibrant and portable material. This class will emphasize color and color pencil techniques, and include drawing foundations of tone, proportion, composition and negative space. Continuing students may choose to explore mixed media.
- Medium size set of regular colored pencils
- Water soluble colored pencils
- Watercolor brushes
- HB-6B graphite pencils
- Gum and kneaded erasers
- Tracing paper, 9X12 pad
- Smooth bristle paper, 9X12
- One sheet of white BFK Rives printmaking paper or something similar
- Regular white drawing paper...same size or bigger
- Masking tape
Jill Pottle
Jill Pottle holds an MFA from the School at the Museum of Fine Arts in conjunction with Tufts University. She received her BFA in Painting from the College of Visual and Performing Arts at Syracuse University. During her undergraduate studies, Jill spent a year abroad at St. Martin’s College of Art in London. Jill works primarily in oils, dry and oil pastels to portray still lifes and landscapes in the style of expressionist realism.
