Botanical Drawing

Whatever the weather may be outside, it's spring in the studio! Come join us to build your skills at drawing flowers, leaves, trees, and much more! We will focus on the basic shapes and fine details that will allow realistic rendering of seed pods, moss, lichen and other fauna. If you've always admired classic botanical illustration, this is a great way to try it out! We will mostly be drawing but may also explore some watercolor techniques, depending on class interest.
- Basic colored pencil set (Crayola is great!)
- Basic watercolor or gouache set (Artist's Loft from Michaels)
- number 2 pencils/mechanical pencils
- eraser
- watercolor pad or heavy paper drawing pad 9x12 or slightly larger
- brushes of choice, cup to wash and palette or plate for mixing
- fine line sharpie or other fine line black pen
- drawing pens of your choice (optional, some will be shared in class)
