Micrography - The Art of Drawing With Letters
Adult (Ages 16+) | This program has been canceled
8 Tuesdays, 12:30 - 2:30 pm
In this class we will create art using Micrography (which is the art or technique of writing with extremely small characters). We study works of art to see how it is done, and then we dive in to do our own creations. Using fonts that are bold, italic, narrow, or made up — and not necessarily tiny either. Large fonts are acceptable and scribbling is encouraged. Your type face becomes your medium with subject matter of your own choosing. You do not have to be an accomplished artist or graphic artist or any kind of artist. We work in a relaxed atmosphere so an imagination is helpful, a sense of humor a plus, and an eraser is always welcome!
- All-media paper (at least 8 x 10)
- pencils (#2)eraser
- Black Microns pens in at least 3 nib sizes, definitely from .01 to 8 (go with thin, medium, thick if unsure)
- any media to "color in" the background with - colored pencils, watercolors, etc
