Take your shibori craft to the next level by learning the various stitch resist techniques known as shibori nui. Explore how a simple running stitch can create a complex woodgrain pattern with mokume nui, use ori-nui to create linear designs or illustrations, pluck and gather fabric with the kanako technique, and more.

No prior experience necessary for this workshop where you'll create distinctive and elegant designs with indigo dye. We'll spend the first class stitching designs and the second class dyeing our creations.
Students will make at least 4 cotton napkins to take home and are welcome to bring their own natural fiber garments/fabric to dye as well.

  • Materials Fee: $25 payable to instructor at the workshop for dyes, equipment and fabric.
  • Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!
