An ACA favorite back with exciting new projects!
Get inspired by famous artists who worked during the late eighteenth century through early the late twentieth nineteenth century: Picasso, Matisse, Monet, Van Gogh, Miró, Kandinsky, Mondrian and more. Create Art Nouveau decorative art, imitating its designs of curved lines of plants and flowers. Paint still-lifes as done by Paul Cézanne and Vincent Van Gogh and whimsical abstracts inspired by Wassily Kandinsly and Joan Miró. Get inspired by Friedensreich Hundertwasser and his boldly colored vibrating organic forms and swirling spirals. Paint like Piet Mondrian and Robert Delaunay with their horizontal and vertical geometric shapes of primary colors. Create Picasso faces, collages as did Matisse and kinetic mobiles like Alexander Calder. Learn a bit of art history each week as we will focus on one artist, see images of their work, and create art inspired by that artist’s style.
Nicole (duplcate) Donson
Nicole Donson is a multi-talented teacher and artist. She creates one of a kind colorfast hand-painted silk scarves, garments, and wall hangings sold at local craft galleries and at juried craft fairs throughout New England. Nicole has been teaching adults and children at a variety of community education programs and after school programs for more than ten years. She worked for the Cabot After School Program in Newtonville for many years and was lead art teacher at the Thompson After School Program for three years and developed the art curriculum for elementary school aged children. Nicole has studied with innovative silk painters throughout the United States in the course of her career and has has studio space at Gorse Mill Studios in Needham, MA.
