Shibori Workshop

Maker Series | This program has been canceled

Saturday, 5/12, 1:00 - 5:00 pm

Shibori, the elegant forbearer to psychedelic tie-dye, is a Japanese resist dyeing technique that is simple enough to do in your backyard but vast with possibility. You will learn traditional techniques to bind, fold, twist and compress fabric before using indigo dye to achieve the distinctive geometric, organic look of shibori. Students will make six tea towels and a scarf to take home, and are welcome to bring their own natural fiber garments/fabric to dye as well!

  • Materials Fee: $25 payable to instructor at the workshop for dyes, equipment and fabric.
  • Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!
