Mixed Media Workshop
Adult Workshop (Age 16+) | This program is completed
2 Saturdays, 3/3 & 3/10, 1:00 - 4:00 pm
The sky is the limit in this two session workshop! Students will explore new techniques to create amazing mixed media artwork, using everything from embossing powder to found objects. It's a great way to jump-start your creativity, or add a new edge to your artistic practice.
- 2- 12"x12" stretched canvases
- 3-9"x12" canvas boards (looks like a flat primed canvas)
- 1 set of acrylic paint in small tubes (Reeves or Artist Loft are what I use)
- 1 pint of clear gloss Mod Podge
- 1 pack of sewing needles
- 1 box of 24 Crayola crayons
- 1 bottle of metallic paint in your choice of copper, gold or silver (I like the Martha Stewart Home Decor paint for my metallics)
- 1 roll of fine gauge wire in your choice of copper, gold or silver (the jewelry section is a good place to look)
- 1-2 acrylic mediums of choice (glass bead gel, string gel, grit gel, modeling paste etc. Artist's Loft brand acrylic mediums are a great, inexpensive choice.)
- assorted papers to be incorporated into artwork (patterned scrapbook papers, copies of photographs, magazine ads, cut out quotes, postcards, ticket stubs etc. Copies of papers are fine)
- assorted 3D objects to be incorporate into artwork (old jewelry pieces, coins, twigs, bits of glass, fabric, recycled objects, etc.... anything that looks interesting and/or has personal meaning to you)
- *Please note that all of these can be found at the Michaels in Porter Square and Michaels often has sales and always has coupons (search online for "Michaels coupons in store printable")
