Ballpoint pen sketching is a great way to develop confidence in line and mark making, it requires a certain amount of accuracy and leaves little room for error. As it is nearly impossible to make no mistakes it also teaches you how to work with those errors.

We will be working from a variety of photographs of portrait, figure, animal and landscape. Exploring cross hatching and line direction as it relates to both form and composition. Other topics covered include value arrangement, edges, mood and design.
