The emphasis of this class will be on learning to paint better landscapes using the water-based medium gouache. Students will learn to create a landscape painting using photographs as reference.  A versatile medium that has some of the advantages of both watercolor and oil. Topics discussed include, choosing a subject, planning a landscape painting, layering in gouache, mixing of colors and why we might change a color , blocking in a composition, adding details and textures. Students will be provided with photo reference. Basic perspective and composing multiple images into one scene will also be addressed.
