Painting Animals in Environments
Class | Available
This class will teach the student how to plan, prepare and execute narrative paintings using wildlife and animals or imagined creatures as the subject. Special emphasis will be placed on understanding the unique issues presented with non-human subjects, and how to mitigate those issues to create a successful finished piece. Students will learn how to gather successful reference on animals and wildlife, and how to use anatomical studies to best utilize and alter the reference to better fit their piece. By creating thumbnails, sketch studies and color comps, students will learn the importance of preparing and planing their image. Using these images and studies, students will ultimately create a finished oil painting.
