Feathered Flight Anatomy: Birds of Prey

Class | Available

This class will focus on understanding the anatomy of winged creatures and how to successfully implement the subtleties of animal flight structure into your drawings, paintings, and illustrations. Students will learn the construction of flight muscles and feathers in various birds of prey through écorché drawings and tracings. Working from photographs, observation and video stills, the instructor will also help students understand the wing beats and flight patterns that are unique to specific species, to better capture these details in their finished artwork.

  • This class will use charcoal drawing materials.
