In this course, we delve into the foundation of animal drawing. Just like in human figure drawing, the lay-in is crucial for capturing the essence of your subject. Students will focus on creating solid lay-ins for various animals. A strong lay-in serves as the blueprint upon which the final rendering is built. Without mastering this initial stage, achieving a polished finish becomes challenging. Throughout the class, we will explore concepts such as abstraction as it relates to animal anatomy, edge mapping, and dynamics. By studying the underlying structures and gestures of animals, students will develop a deeper understanding of their form.
