In this class, we will explore the art of painting abstract compositions. We will discuss the parameters of an abstract painting and its various styles of execution. Furthermore, we will add the elements of botanical designs to our abstract composition, giving it a unique perspective and vibe. In our desert environment, we have countless inspiration of nature's beauty. We will incorporate images of desert flora, simplify them in form, to give richness and complexity to our abstract painting. The class will also cover the approaches to oil painting in general. This includes blocking and rendering the designs, exploring color tones and values, navigating color choices of contrasting and complimentary colors, learning how to optimize mixing oil paints, handling paint brushes and care for our materials.
