Neuroscience research shows that our overly-busy, overly-focused lives cause mental fatigue, burnout, and a general tendency to tune out the world. However, taking creative brain breaks can actually improve your overall focus and productivity! Learn to use doodling, writing, and coloring to speed up and slow down your thinking. This class will explore intentional mind wandering with doodling and focused problem-solving with visual templates that encourage you to think through a problem from many angles. This class isn’t about art. It’s about insight. No drawing experience necessary – just bring your and an open mind!

  • Whatever you usually use for journaling will work fine. If you are excited to buy new supplies, these are my recommendations:
  • An unlined drawing paper, journal, or sketchbook. I use BeePaper Marker Books, but anything will work. Spiral binding helps the sketcbook lay flat and also allows you to work in portrait or landscape mode.
  • Your favorite writing / drawing supplies. I use Uchida pigmented markers and 5-10 different Tombow Dual Brush watercolor markers.
  • A pencil with eraser.
