From Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Prudhon to Rubens and Watteau drawing on toned paper has allowed artists to achieve luminous and beautiful results. We will work with various media and techniques on toned paper to create elegant combinations with the simplest of tools.

Drawing Fundamentals 1 & 2 required.

  • Toned Paper: mid tone grey or blue and brown
  • Pencil
  • Charcoal pencil
  • Willow charcoal
  • White pastel pencil or white charcoal pencil
  • *white conte stick
  • sanguine or red chalk, can be conte stick/ pencil or pastel pencil
  • *tape (if you plan to tape your paper to a drawing board)
  • Kneaded eraser
  • White plastic eraser
  • Tortillions or blending stumps
