Generate ideas, solve problems, and explore your feelings with a visual journal. This journaling process is based on a visual note-taking technique that allows you to slow down your thinking and map the connections between your thoughts with doodles (or quick sketches), keywords, frames, and flair. This visual process allows you to have a creative conversation with yourself that can lead to spontaneous insights.

READ: This class is a pre-requisite for the Deep Dive into Visual Journaling.

  • Whatever you usually use for journaling will work fine. If you are excited to buy new supplies, these are my recommendations:
  • • An unlined drawing paper, journal, or sketchbook. I use Canson 7x10 Field Drawing Books and BeePaper Marker Books, but anything will work. Spiral binding helps the journal lay flat and also allows you to work in portrait or landscape mode.
  • • Your favorite writing / drawing supplies. I use Uchida pigmented markers and 5-10 different Tombow Dual Brush watercolor markers.
  • • A pencil with eraser.
