Returning acrylic painters will choose from still life, historical images and personal subject matter to create a body of work that reflects painters' journey and vision. Find a painted vocabulary in color, mark-making, subject and method that speaks to you. Work on paper, canvas or another substrate. Acrylic additives also explored. May be repeated as desired.

  • This is a studio class. Materials list below is for those starting out. More experienced painters need to bring the supplies they are currently using. Instructions for building stretcher bars will be discussed in class.

  • *Strathmore 18” x 24” Mixed Media Tablet
  • *Acrylic colors: Liquitex Basics(economical) or Golden paints recommended
  • Phthalo Blue
  • Naphthol Crimson, medium hue
  • Hansa or Azo Yellow, medium hue
  • White Gesso
  • Mars Black
  • Other colors optional
  • *Acrylic Paintbrushes, long handled with white bristle brushes: Round, size 9-10 and Flat, size 9
