Learn to draw the human figure by strengthening your ability to observe the person in front of you. Through repeated practice, you will develop intuitive and innovative ways to capture the nature of gestures, sensitize yourself to details, and develop confidence. Embrace the challenge of figure drawing with boldness and curiosity.

  • We will discuss art supplies during the first class.
  • Please bring the following to the first class. You can find these items at Sarnoff, Arizona Art Supply, and other local art supply stores:
  • 18x24 newsprint pad
  • VERY SOFT vine charcoal
  • Soft compressed charcoal
  • A selection of soft graphite pencils 2B or more
  • A selection of erasers including kneaded, vinyl, gum
  • Pencil sharpener or exacto knife for sharpening
  • Optional:
  • 18 x 24 drawing paper pad
  • Sketchpad 11 x 14 or larger
  • Toned paper such as mi tientes or even kraft paper
  • Bold markers in any color
  • Pen and ink
  • Brush and ink
  • Watercolors
  • Pastels
