This class supports people interested in developing and sustaining a creative practice. We will look at the creative process, practices of other creative individuals, engage in creativity exercises, and share discussions about our creative practices. It is designed to support and expand student’s creative practice in whatever direction they choose: visual arts, performing arts and in their professional/personal lives. All skill levels of students welcome.

  • - Large sketchbook, prefer at least 11 x 14”, appropriate for multi-media use.
  • - Paper/journal for note taking if you want in a different place than your sketchbook
  • - Assortment of materials may include: pens, pencils, pastels, charcoal, stamps and ink pads, watercolors (with water container and brushes), colored pens and pencils etc. We will be doing a variety of exercises where you are free to use and combine various media and/or collage.
  • - Glue stick, glue, YES paste or other adhesive for collage work
  • - Scissors and/or cutting mat and Xacto knife for collage work
  • - Papers, scraps of old watercolors and sketches, art papers, tissue paper, magazines, newspaper, etc for collage
  • - Paper towels
  • NOTE: Please do not spend a lot of money on supplies. Bring a small selection of what you have that will allow you to be flexible. Collage and mixed media will be appropriate.
  • Instructor will have limited additional papers, magazines etc. for collage work.
