Enjoy the spread of vibrant dye across Habotai silk as you paint a scarf. Learn about serti techniques using water-based resist to fence in dyes. This class may especially appeal to artists familiar with watercolor/gouache. Recommended: Drawing Fundamentals or equivalent

  • Some supplies will be provided.
  • From Walmart:
  • 50 quilting pins (1¾”) size 28 (Singer QuiltPro)
  • tamale cooker
  • From Michael’s Craft Store:
  • 3 angled Taklon brushes: small, medium, and large
  • fabric scissors
  • From The Dollar General:
  • 4 foam boards, 20x30”
  • masking tape
  • duct tape
  • small plastic container for holding water
  • 8-10 small plastic containers for holding dye
  • From around the house:
  • 1 used washrag
  • 1 used but washed cotton bed sheet (we will be cutting it)
  • pencil and paper (for designing scarf)
  • 4-5 clothespins
  • 1 bath towel
