Enjoy the spread of vibrant dye across Habotai silk as you create a scarf and small hangable silk painting. Learn about serti techniques using water-based resists to fence in dyes. This class may especially appeal to artists familiar with watercolor/gouache. Recommended: Drawing Fundamentals or equivalent

  • 3 angle brushes: small, medium, and large—white or golden taklon
  • 5" x 7” canvas
  • 4 foam boards, 20" x 30”
  • Masking Tape
  • Roll of duct tape
  • 50 quilting pins (1 ¾”)
  • Small bowl or plastic container for holding water
  • 1 used but washed cotton bed sheet, to be cut up
  • 1 used washrag
  • Sharp scissors, fabric scissors
  • Pencil
  • Sketch journal or a few pieces of loose leaf paper
