This class will deepen your understanding and mastery of foundational skills. You will explore organic subject matter in greater depth and focus more overtly on developing compositional skills. You will gain further skill in basic drawing media.

  • -- Charcoal – 1 box of Académie Fusains HB Medium ®Nitram or any brand of vine charcoal
  • -- Pencil - Pure woodless graphite HB (Preferred brands: ® General's, ®Koh-I-Noor, ® Faber-Castell PITT)
  • -- Eraser - Tuff Stuff Eraser Stick (® Paper Mate, no other brand substitutes please!)
  • -- Paper – heavyweight (at least 70 lbs or 80 lbs) any size equal to or larger than a 11” x 17” sheet, loose leaf, sketchbook or sketch pad
  • -- Sandpaper - Fine grit from 300 - 400 works best for sharpening charcoal or pencils
