Studio Incamminati’s Summer Fundamentals of Fine Art Program integrates the study of painting and drawing with working artist faculty, focused studio hours, artist lectures, and instructor critiques to help motivated high-school students and recent graduates (16-19 yrs) develop exceptional art portfolios. Students will focus on figural realism and impressionistic colors, drawing from the teachings of our founder Nelson Shanks. Create lasting skills in art while having a one-of-a-kind summer experience!

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday each week experience college-level fine art education, with Wednesdays split between a fine art course half the day and the other half devoted to professional development, including but not limited to museum tours, open studio hours, artist lectures, Q&A sessions, and more.

Our method is to introduce precepts and skills one at a time, so that students can master each one through repetition and focused analysis under the guidance of an experienced
instructor. Each lesson builds upon the previous one, so that progress can be measured. The program is designed for students seeking to gain techniques which will lead to a fine art career. However, the skills that are taught are also vital to other disciplines, including illustration, animation, graphic design, and concept art for films, video games, books and other media.

The SI Pre-College Intensive curriculum is modeled on the foundation courses taken by all Studio Incamminati Students.
