Écorché is a sculpture discipline wherein the artist shapes and sculpts every aspect of the figure; from the skeletal framework, to the musculature and superficial layers. This imbues the artist with an intrinsic understanding of the range of motion of the body and how the body’s motion affects the appearance of the figure.

This class will start with the absolute basics of building an armature, and move on to learning about tools, classic sculpture techniques and perspectives, and working from a live model (with anatomical visual aids).
