In this workshop, students will learn principles that enable them to develop a portrait painting from start to completion in a logical and flexible way.  

These are a few areas that our lessons will focus on throughout the week.  Concepts will be introduced in a sequential way from simple to complex.

• linear construction of the head
• Integration of visual and structural information
• Form development through accurate calibration of value and color relationship
• Paint application and surface treatment

Students will go through exercises that help reinforce information introduced in the demo/lecture.  The workshop will start with shorter poses ranging from 1-3 hours and end with a 3-day pose to allow students an opportunity to apply skills learned to a long pose painting.

This workshop is open to students of all levels.
