Culminating in a nine hour pose, this five day workshop is designed to train artists in concepts and exercises essential to building powerful portraits in oil.

Artists will learn the fine points of portraiture from anatomy and structure to paint handling and more. Guided with demonstrations and instruction at the easel students will become well versed in drills and portrait principles that will inform and improve their studio work for years to come. Included with this course is an evening demonstration by the instructor.

Studio Incamminati artist/instructor Peter Kelsey will conduct a three hour painting demonstration on Tuesday, February 26 at the John H. Vanderpoel Art Association from 6 -9 p.m. The demo is free to the workshop participants and the general public.
