This one week course is designed to train students in the principles of figure painting from the beginning to the final stages of a painting.
Culminating in a two day long pose, the workshop will start with gestures to learn to capture the action of the pose and progress to color study and form on the figure.
Student will learn to build a painting in the direct method. They will further develop the understanding of light on form and how it relates to the figure. The history of color study will be covered along with how to apply what the Impressionists learned of color to a painting. Finally the long pose will teach the process and craftsmanship of oil painting from start to finish.
