Join Turtle Island Restoration Network as we take you back in time to 1987, when our founder began sea turtle conservation with local coastal communities in a long-term preservation effort to save sea turtles in Nicaragua. What officially started in 1989 as the “sea turtle restoration project,” and now referred to as Turtle Island Restoration Network, has extended into offices in California, Costa Rica, and Texas. Here in Galveston, we continue to rapidly respond to environmental threats to our oceans, streams, and endangered marine species, like our beloved Texas State sea turtle, the Kemp’s ridley! (Limit 35)
